“I strive to provide my students and colleagues with the tools and confidence that will empower them to lead and find creative solutions to the problems they encounter.”
Charles Polizano P’18 started at Poly Prep in 2005 after graduating from Brooklyn College with a bachelor’s in computer science. Charles grew with the department and the increasing dependence on technology by getting his master’s in instructional technology from St. Joseph’s University and moving up to his current role of Head of Technology, where he oversees the vision and strategy of technology use at Poly. Charles also led the growth of computer science instruction at Poly, evolving the program from a few elective offerings to multiple options for students, including AP and advanced courses. Charles’ vision also helped design Poly’s Makerspace, where students are encouraged to explore, create, and collaborate. He and his team also architected Virtual Poly and enhanced outdoor learning for students and teachers in 2020.
