“As an educator, my main goal is to help each student feel seen, heard, and valued for who they are — empowering them, as students and as people, to make the world a better place through their unique gifts.”
Amanda Rose joined Poly Prep as a Middle School Dean in 2021. Hailing from the Philadelphia area, she always felt most at home in a classroom. Amanda’s mother, a college professor, inspired her to become an educator. After completing a B.A. in Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies at Loyola University Maryland and M.A. in Social Studies Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, Amanda went straight into teaching and taught for 10 years as an English and history teacher, nine and a half of those in middle school. She has extensive experience in teaching and leadership positions in independent schools, specializing in social-emotional learning and curriculum development. Most recently, she taught Grades 6 and 7 English at Trevor Day School for six years and served proudly as the Grade 6 Dean. As an eighth grader, Amanda was voted “Most Likely to Become an Artist”; she embraces each day as a blank canvas, always made more vibrant by the true brilliance of children.
