“Education is the process in which a person can reach outside of their own frame of reference to gain exposure to other human experiences. My goal is to open up a language barrier so that my students can access the perspectives of those who speak Spanish.”
Alex Fisher joined Poly’s World Languages Department in 2022. Born in New York and raised in south Florida, she graduated from Cornell University in 2016 with a B.A. in Spanish and English and a minor in Africana Studies. She achieved a dual M.A.T. from New York University in Teaching Spanish and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) in 2020. She has been studying Spanish since age six and counts every year of teaching as another year of study, as students always teach her something new about the language. Alex loves international music and TV, as well as hip hop dance. She started her own at-home baking business in 2021.
